Is your dog overweight? If so, there are many dog diets you can use to get him healthy.

Firstly, visit your vet. Even if you know that your dog is overweight and needs to lose his weight, an exam should be one of the first things that you do for him.

Meet with a veterinarian that you trust and who you know is committed to helping your dog.

Although this is not a specific tool to help your dog to lose weight, it is a crucial first step. Many people do not realize that a few pounds overweight can be far too much weight for a dog.

Your vet will examine your dog, and weigh him. Once you have a baseline weight, you’ll know whether or not your dog is losing weight - this is the first step to a healthier dog.

Take your dog to the vet even if you think he’s fine. A yearly vet exam is a must for all dogs.
